About Making

Architecture is about "Making":
- setting out is about making a mark on the earth into places;
- brick laying is about making bricks and mortar into walls and openings;
- curtain glass walling is about making prefabricated assemblies into facades;
- concreting is about making formworks, reinforcing bars and placing cement into structures;
- constructing is about making all these elements into spaces.....

But Architecture is not only about making tangible things such as drawings and buildings. It is also about making intangible things; making dreams come true, making innovations; making homes and places. Ultimately Architecture is about making spaces for the possible expressions of the full human potential. The sequence of architectural construct is an additive chain of making, from small to large. Every single step of the construction process is about making some components of the building; piece by piece
and over time, guided by ideas and drawings, making these components into assemblies and then into building elements and eventually into buildings, urban spaces and cities.
