Singapore

After external review, few days of holiday is what I have.So I decided to visit my sister in SG and help her in house shifting from TH NUS to Bukit Batok( I cant help but laugh when I 1st heard of the place). Old flat, I dont really like the design of the flats there as there are less interaction between the neighbourhood. Each floor has 2 units and the doors are always closed.

The largest fountain in SEA.

I personally love this artwork.

HERE COMES THE ESPLANADE!

The artwork is totally made by white plastic bags, which really impress me alot as it functions as a decorative art as well as promoting environmental awareness.

Stairs + ramp :)
Good natural lighting and awesome structure. Love the detailing.

I personally love the detailing of esplanade interior more than its exterior.

Double helix bridge.
An overwhelming structural design. Walking along the double helix structure will surely bring you some inspiration.
But thinking about the people who have lost their life for this massive project...it makes me feel blue :_(

My mom was complaining that I didnt take a picture of her with this bridge. I feel so sorry but cant help it as I was busy snapping pictures before my battery turns to 0%.

I didnt get to go around this building as my mom was so tired and we were rushing to catch a taxi. I will definitely visit the building again next time to study the detailing of it:) ALONE

About Making

Architecture is about "Making":
- setting out is about making a mark on the earth into places;
- brick laying is about making bricks and mortar into walls and openings;
- curtain glass walling is about making prefabricated assemblies into facades;
- concreting is about making formworks, reinforcing bars and placing cement into structures;
- constructing is about making all these elements into spaces.....

But Architecture is not only about making tangible things such as drawings and buildings. It is also about making intangible things; making dreams come true, making innovations; making homes and places. Ultimately Architecture is about making spaces for the possible expressions of the full human potential. The sequence of architectural construct is an additive chain of making, from small to large. Every single step of the construction process is about making some components of the building; piece by piece
and over time, guided by ideas and drawings, making these components into assemblies and then into building elements and eventually into buildings, urban spaces and cities.
